Design Brief:

The property was located in Cottlesloe, Western Australia, approximately 1km from the ocean to the west and was second line salt protected by several buildings. The old house built in 1909 was a complex timber bungalow with Edwardian weatherboard.

The client wanted a landscape masterplan which would ensure the flow from the newly renovated front area to the modern rear building. The project included all hardscape materials such as paving, fence specifications, timber decking, pool colour and other items.

Planting was strategically planned for the pool area with tall shrubs to ensure privacy. Mediterranean plant species were the best option for the conditions, with a mix of native, contrasting foliage, texture and flowers for colour.
