Landscape Design - Rooftop

Design Brief:

This Community Rooftop Deck needed to provide a versatile space enabling opportunities for the staff and their clients (members of the community) to use the rooftop for a range of uses listed below:

• Provide quiet areas for counselling to take place in the fresh open air.

• Provide an area which connects all users to nature to help aid the counselling process.

• Provide open space on the deck for open air for classes such as yoga etc.

• Provide an open space big enough for groups to move around in during company forums, group training break outs and functions.

• Provide a space which the staff can use for lunch breaks to recharge.

• Provide a space to evoke a sense of happiness, peacefulness and a feeling of stillness.

• Provide a space to connect the rooftop space to the philosophy of the organisation.

Due to the fact that the client was a not for profit organisation budget constraints were an important factor.
