Design Brief:

The brief was very clear from the client. Turn this unused, hot and exposed open space into an extension of the home. Create a reason to go and a place to entertain. With inner city living on the increase and pressure to maximise every square inch, this amazing balcony is so unique, but not taking advantage of this space, was the crime of the century!

From their comparative tiny balconies, the neighbours were observing this lost space with such envy, we needed to bring the space to life, while adding enormous social and financial value to their home.

It’s modern, clean and crisp with a visual sense of unity with the rest of the apartment. The area is timeless and functional to a tee. The materials and organic shape are visually strong and draw you out and down to the lower balcony. The space offers a place of shelter to dine and entertain, or just sit and take in city views and a sunset over a glass of bubbles on a warm evening.
