Landscape Design - Residential Design Less Than 50m2
Design Brief:
The brief for this project was to make better use of the property’s narrow entry
space. Previously, the space was a simply paved and open, and the owners had no
private space to sit outside. The brief was to create a more enclosed space that
would be pleasant to sit in, and that would give a more interesting sense of arrival to
the home. There was a reasonable amount of screening already, but the owners did
not want to look out over the carport while sitting in the space.
The brick paving was to be removed and updated, and the fencing replaced, with
materials selected that would work together and give a contemporary feel and
introduce a varied but complementary palette.
Planting was to be lush so that sitting in the space one feels surrounded by greenery.
Again a contemporary feel was to come through in the planting, with combinations
of foliage texture and colour preferred over lots of flowers.
