Residential Landscape Design more than 150m2
Design Brief:
The client wanted their new garden to be contemporary, inviting, and connected to the house. A pool was desired, as was a covered space for lounging, a dining area and a built in BBQ for entertaining. In terms of planting, the client wanted a complete redesign that would better reflect Coogee’s coastal setting, appearing lush while also affording for space for the pool and for a small lawn.
A major element of the design intent was to create an alfresco space level with the kitchen that would invite people outside. Taking advantage of the level changes on site, the garden was levelled out below this so that the lounging area looks over the pool & garden. The dining area sits outside the kitchen, making use of the windows that open all the way out to provide a service area for outdoor dining.
Nestled between the house and the bamboo hedge, the dining space feels nice and intimate. Hard surfaces were to be softened with vegetation, creating the sense of a private oasis. Planting along the street frontage was also to be refreshed to soften the front walls & create a much more inviting entry.
