Residential Landscape Design 50m2 - 150m2
Design Brief:
The client wished to create a small sophisticated entertaining area, to include a dining space, outdoor cooking and a connected lounging area.
The established Franjipani tree was considerably lower than the Finish Floor Level of the house. An interesting layout of sunken lounge and tiered structures was created to integrate the site seamlessly and resolve the issue of split levels.
The dining area has access lines balanced at right angles from the two adjoining spaces, while facing out over the sunken garden. A steel pergola allowed for an ornamental grape that adds a vertical accent and winter sun.
The large corten steel planter troughs in the front courtyard provide a dark contrast to the polished concrete paving, and provides a dark background for the lush green trailing plantings to stand out.
