Residential Landscape Design more than 150m2

Design Brief:

The designer was to design a coastal outdoor oasis for a growing family on their large coastal bush block in Shoreham on the Mornington Peninsula. The brief consisted of a large pool, alfresco entertaining space, lounging areas, BBQ and a pizza oven. Large open lawn areas for the kids to play on were also required and a tree house cubby. There was also a call out for a small kitchen and herb garden for their pizza nights that was close to all amenities.

The clients were also planning to one day knock over the home that was there and build a new one so the task included designing some footprints and floor plans of a new home for their consideration. The entire garden and pool needed to work with their current home and a possible future one.

Judges’ Comments:

An exciting, unique design full of bold choices, generous proportions, smart solutions and planting that reflect the silvers and blonds of the local Mornington Peninsula. Relaxed, simple, elegant. It sits well even though it has been photographed as a young garden. Finishes enhance and build upon the existing architecture.
