Residential Landscape Design more than 150m2
Design Brief:
The client had commissioned a modern architectural residence with Japanese influenced interiors. They desired a pond for keeping Koi fish and no lawns.
The design explored options for landforms through the front setback of the site creating a sense of arrival and facilitating entry to the ground floor of the 2 storey home over a basement. It creates a journey through the garden via several zones Front, Side, Pond and Rear.
Judges’ Comments:
There is considered use of design elements such as massing and repetition. Where possible the designer has successfully softened the hard, contemporary edges of the building using textural contrast in the planting. Silvers and greens work well with the architecture.
