Landscape Design - Mid Size Design
Design Brief:
The owners of this property had an amazing view down the valley. They wanted to create a pool with plenty of space for hanging out on weekends as a family and with friends. The pool was to be nestled into the embankment with a focus on maximising the views down the valley.
There needed to be a connection from the top garden area down to the pool terrace and a poolside cabana to provide shelter from the Queensland sun and heat, with BBQ facilities and enough space to hang out without the need to walk up to the house to fetch food and drinks.
Judges’ Comments:
The design capitalised on lush views down the valley with a good connection to the house above. There are generous proportions and satisfying textural differences in the hardscape materiality. The design has been cleverly nestled into the hill slope. The garden gently wraps around the timber decking and stairs giving the impression that the distance from the back of the house to the pool and cabana is much closer than it really is.
