About LDI

The Landscape Design Institute is Australia’s peak organisation representing professional landscape designers.

We are a support, collaboration, education and representation membership group created for landscape designers. LDI promotes the importance of landscape design and sound environmental management through its Learn, Practice & Support pillars for a positive impact and sustainable future. We create opportunities to learn and share knowledge through professional development, advocating for members needs and fostering smart collaboration to benefit all in our community. 

All Professional and Registered members have a sound knowledge of design principles, horticulture and environmental management and are encouraged to continue their professional development through our Educational Events Program. Our members are well-known for their expertise in the development of high-quality landscapes. As specialist designers of external spaces, they combine technical, horticultural and design expertise to create beautiful landscapes for private residences, as well as commercial spaces, public outdoor areas, and all kinds of gardens in schools, playgrounds and retirement communities. 

LDI (formerly AILDM) has been supporting landscape professionals for nearly 30 years across Australia and are deeply committed to helping our members grow and thrive in the industry.

All LDI members are required to:

• Adhere to the LDI Code of Ethics
• Support our objectives
• Be guided by our Environment Policy in their design work
• Hold the appropriate insurance for the work they undertake
