Landscape Design - Rooftop
Design Brief:
The residence is an inner west Sydney balcony terrace.
The home had recently been purchased by the clients with the garden beds quite established. The clients wanted their interiors to flow into the balcony space creating another room for entertaining. The area needed to have a lifestyle feel that felt connected to the home.
The space needed to be fit for adults and children, and reflect the feeling of having a 'backyard' space. The clients loved to entertain and wanted to be able to use their outdoor kitchen more.
The planting style was dated, overgrown and lacked consistency. The clients wanted a dining and lounge area where they could entetain a large number of guests. A seamless flow between the different areas was to be created. The views from the balcony of the harbour bridge were impressive so planting was to be kept low to make the most of the views.
The brief was to design a space where adults and children could both enjoy the outdoors harmoniously. The design was to seamlessly bring the indoors outside, reflecting the interior style.
