Residential Landscape Design Less than 50m2
Design Brief:
The client was seeking a space where she could relax and take time out. A very busy financial services executive, the garden was her place to entertain and just potter. She was a keen gardener who enjoyed growing plants, vegetables and herbs.
The garden was linked directly from the lounge with bi fold doors, so it needed to look great from the house, day and night and act as a focal point. Being time poor it was also imprtant for the garden to be low to no maintenance for the client.
The result is a modern take on a native bush style garden. It is relaxed in its style and planting, but essentially strong in character and form. The timber seat is the hero of the garden, owning the space and inviting you in.
Recycle and reuse items within the garden such as the vertical production spirals were 'upcycled'. The paving dimensions were selected for minimum cuts and wastage and groundcover. Recycled gravels created fantastic mulch, allowing for maximum water penetration for the garden beds.
