Quercus Gardens - Gold Award
Residential Landscape Design Less than 50m2
Design Brief:
Begin Again! This was the brief from the clients who requested an outdoor room. A small garden with no functionality for this family of four at the back of a terrace it was no longer practical was not being used at all aside from some oversized furniture.
The garden needed to deliver an area where the family could relax, cook, dine and spend time together. The challenge was to pack this all in a 32m2 space.
The space was dull and dark, dark furnishings, pavers, no privacy and little connection to the newly renovated interior.
Being creative people style was important to the clients. Simplicity was the request along with the desire for lush planting and an understated garden. Privacy was needed from overlooking flats. The clients really loved a tropical look and requested the existing Bangalow Palm be kept in the corner. Easy maintenance was also requested.
The clients wanted an outdoor kitchen and easy one level access with the house for a family friendly and connected space. The clients requested a loung area, dining area, storage facilities and outdoor lights.
