Commercial Open Space Design

Design Brief:

The brief was to provide an entry garden to lead visitors into the new display building for the Yarra Bend development in Alphington. The garden was to link the modern and elegant development seamlessly to the native bushland surrounding the area.

The vision for the development was to create a vibrant, welcoming and sustainable precinct that embraces the sites rich heritage, providing an exciting place for diverse communities.

The development is being promoted as “the world’s most liveable suburb” with thoughtful sustainability and high-Tech facilities. This was to be felt within the garden through use of materials and design.

The design was to reflect the site's rich cultural history as well as its significance and proximity to the connected bushland corridor which encompasses the flowing Yarra River.
