Landscape Design - Rooftop

Design Brief:

The client wanted to transform an unused rooftop into an entertaining area that could be used all year round. The area had to be able to accommodate large gatherings of people yet feel intimate and inviting. The owners wanted the area to be a retreat with a resort-like feel.

To achieve this the design focused on creating three distinct yet connected zones in the space - an area for outdoor eating, an area for relaxing, and one for simply viewing and enjoying the garden.

The area was designed to enjoy in summer and winter with a combination of covered areas and open spaces.

A raised decking area takes centre stage providing views of the city skyline and interest to the design. Synthetic lawn softens the area adding greenery and providing extra places to sit. Raised planters and clusters of pot plants help soften the space and provide texture and colour.
