Plantscape Design
Design Brief:
This project is situated on a corner block of a busy street. One of the key items in the design brief was to open up the garden to the street rather than just adding hedges for privacy.
A designated area for Orchids and a new potting room were required. The clients wanted clear and level pedestrian access around the house to make gardening easier.
An area that was in focus were the raised gardens on the southern side of the house. These gardens faced the kitchen and were to provide a calming outlook. Rendered retaining walls were to be softened, which was achieved through stainless steel wire for climbing plants and spillover planting.
The planting pallet was to blend with the existing area while
also softening the house and surrounding structures. This project had to combine a working garden with fruit trees and ornamental feature trees to give Autumn colours,
the garden will flower at different stages of the year while always supplying a deep layer of lush greenery.
