South house gardens - Gold Award
Plantscape Design
Design Brief:
The clients had recently renovated their house to a contemporary style with a soft colour palette.
There is a 6m fall from the house down to the street. The front garden needed to be upgraded to complement the house, provide access to the front door from the street, be a pleasant area to pass through and site boundaries needed to be
established.
The front garden area has outcrops of bedrock and two substantial Eucalypts. The site required soil remediation; site grading; drainage; boundary retaining walls; lighting; new plants; and irrigation.
Predominantly Australian plants were used to create an Australian bush style setting within suburbia.
