Plantscape Design
Design Brief:
The owners of this historic Federation home wanted a garden that was designed with the interior in mind, reflecting its feel and the era of their home. A ‘picking garden’ with lots of seasonal variety was also requested.
This was achieved by reflecting the colours and textures from inside in the outside plant material colour and textural choices. Garden vistas became a feature of every room; through the windows and French doors. Interior and garden mirrors were installed to reflect and amplify the garden. The garden was designed to look beautiful from the large veranda and from upstairs.
Each garden area was treated according to its unique microclimate but with a small number of plants repeated and materials such as bluestone used to integrate the garden.
