Landscape Design - Large Size Design

Design Brief:

The owners wanted a resort style vibe with a focus on outdoor living and a big pool. Outdoor areas were to be expansive and spacious to accommodate large groups of people and feel like an extension of the home. They required the driveway entry area to be large enough for multiple cars while still providing a pleasant sense of entry to the home.

At the rear the owners asked to have a large outdoor entertaining area with built-in outdoor BBQ kitchen along with lounge areas overlooking the garden and pool. A dedicated outdoor fire pit area with plenty of seating was desired. Lots of greenery to soften the scale of the buildings and expansive outdoor areas with lawn and garden areas for kids to run around completed the brief.

Judges’ Comments:

The design delivers a good use of spaces and the wow factors the clients wanted were delivered. The pool and the outdoor areas are like a resort and the lovely selection of plants offers interest and contrasting foliage. The addition of lots of trees helps soften the large expanses of hard surfaces.
