Landscape Design - Large Size Design

Design Brief:

The owners of this property wanted a Greek Islands vibe with a focus on outdoor living and a big pool. The outdoor areas were to be expansive and spacious to accommodate large groups of people. The outdoor areas needed to feel like an extension of the large home. A sense of entry to the home was to be provided by a large driveway area which would accommodate guests’ cars.

At the rear there was to be a large outdoor entertaining area with built-in outdoor BBQ kitchen and dining area along with lounge areas overlooking the garden and pool, and a sunken outdoor fire pit area. A large swimming pool with in-pool seating & sunlounge areas, a pool cabana providing a different view, lots of greenery and expansive outdoor areas with lawn and garden areas for kids to play were specified.

Judges’ Comments:

The result certainly met the brief. The Greek Islands vibe with loads of outdoor entertaining areas was achieved with plenty of space for family and friends. The inclusion of a large plant palette softened the volume of hard surfaces.
