Design Brief:

This design brief was to create a contemporary garden suitable for a young, active family, allowing them to entertain large groups, relax and play, bringing the interior and exterior spaces together. A swimming pool and spa large enough for the whole family, a well-equipped outdoor kitchen, a large dining area, and a separate outdoor firepit were to be integrated into the design.

Layers of garden to screen existing neighbours and a multi-unit residential development were important for privacy. A lush planting palette that gave the feeling of a tropical holiday and a sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of work was desired.

Judges’ Comments:

Judges thought the design created an interesting, playful and relaxed garden that draws you in and demands you spend time in it with some well positioned plant selections. The overall look is very appealing.
