Project: Clovelly-Elegant Alfresco

Design Brief:

The clients required a complete redesign of the front and rear gardens of their residence. The front entry was not working and leading new visitors in the wrong direction. The design was to re-configure the fence and entry gate to improve the sense of arrival, with a more traditional fence and formal planting palette that would complement the classical style of the house.

For the rear garden the clients requested a new pool with a lounge space and space for entertaining and dining with a covered alfresco area, and an outdoor kitchen with a BBQ unit.

Judges’ Comments:
Judges thought the design created an impressive backyard alfresco area for entertaining and recreation, whilst the neutral palette, simplicity of planting, materials and features maximises the feeling of space. The plant selection at the front is inviting and creates a lush entrance. The documentation, working drawings were exemplary.
