Paul Alexander Landscape (PALA) is a boutique, award-winning studio based in Fitzroy Melbourne, crafting bespoke landscapes for high-end residential projects both locally and interstate. Our work is driven by design excellence, technical precision, and a deep appreciation for nature’s role in shaping livable outdoor spaces.
We take a holistic approach to landscape architecture, seamlessly integrating built form, materiality, and planting design to create balanced, functional, and enduring spaces. Our projects are meticulously detailed, and we use 3D modeling as a core tool to explore design solutions, communicate concepts, and refine construction details.

About You
- We are looking for a creative, driven, and technically skilled designer to become part of our growing team. You should be passionate about crafting elegant, buildable landscapes and thrive in an environment where attention to detail is paramount.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Landscape Architecture / Design (or similar) with a strong design sensibility.
- Experience working in the local industry, with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
- Proven creativity with the ability to conceptualize, develop, and deliver refined, high-quality design solutions.
- Exceptional 3D modeling skills (SketchUp is a major advantage) to effectively explore and communicate design ideas.
- Technical expertise in documentation – ability to prepare clear, precise construction drawings and development approvals.
- A strong understanding of materials, site grading, and built elements, ensuring design intent is realized in construction.
- Deep plant knowledge and the ability to curate thoughtful, site-specific planting schemes.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.
- A collaborative and proactive mindset, with a strong work ethic and the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
- Experienced in dealing with various stakeholders, council submissions, architects and other creatives, building rapport with clients, customers, suppliers and landscape contractors.
- Be willing to get your hands dirty, with opportunity to spend time on site setting out plants and ensuring design intent is met.
- This role is ideal for someone who wants to contribute meaningfully to the design process and develop their career alongside an ambitious studio.
